The ground floor of this residential house is composed of the public area, while the split-level floor houses the master bedroom and study room. The captivating structure of the split-level floor is visible from the living room, creating a unique and visually appealing feature in the house.
The overall color scheme of the design focuses on white and wood tones, with moderate stainless steel components, to embody the spirit of minimalism. Earth-tone furniture and soft finishes, adorned with special succulent plants, not only harmonize the cold-tone elements of minimalism but also bring a sense of humanity to the space.
The design style of this residential house draws inspiration from the candid and funny characters of the house owner, proposing a contemporary North American minimalistic style. The project was completed in August 2018 in Taipei City, Taiwan.
The entryway floor features black and white elements, representing the two commencing spirits of the space. Artistic marble adornments extend the visual perception from the entryway to the public area, comprising the living and dining room, which exude amiable hospitality to everyone entering the house.
The design overcame challenges in creating smooth traffic flow between the living room and dining room, while also utilizing the tall ceiling to create a magnificent and in-depth sense of sight. The central column, embellished with volakas white marble, and the graceful furniture highlight the luminous and elegant features of the space. The sloping ceiling architecturally connects the master and second bedroom, the dining room, kitchen, and other areas, creating a cohesive design that reflects the characters of each space.
